A User's Guide to Perform or Else

Tim Edkins

Abstract

In this user's guide to accompany the reading of Jon McKenzie's Perform or Else, Tim Edkins sets out to offer a schematic of the book’s unusual structure by drawing together its signposting. The piece does not summarise the entire theoretical apparatus—Edkins prefers not to spoil all the surprises that await the intrepid reader—but instead lays out the chapter structure in order to provide a navigational aid to help readers venture further into the book.
